A nonprofit organization dedicated to reducing preventable health and social problems in communities of need locally and internationally
Founders
Mark Unverzagt and Laura Fashing, a husband and wife dedicated to reducing preventable health and social problems in communities of need locally and internationally, created the Undaunted Carnival Foundation in October of 2004. The foundation's name comes from the English translation of the founders' surnames. The name embodies the spirit of determination and optimism that are essential when addressing the complex problems inherent in this new century.
Both of the founders have expertise in dealing with the root causes of injustice and suffering. Laura Fashing is a government attorney who has a special interest in women's issues, particularly the education and economic equality of women in developing countries. Mark Unverzagt is a family physician with expertise in international health and public health, and has practiced and taught internationally.
